A Major Graduation Milestone: ChattState Celebrates 60,000 Credentials Since College Founding

This May, Chattanooga State Community College celebrated a noteworthy achievement in its 60-year history. 

The Spring 2026 graduating class was made up of nearly 1,000 history-making students, who gathered alongside friends, family, and peers to honor the occasion. The addition of these graduates helped ChattState achieve two major milestones: 50,000 graduates and 60,000 credentials awarded since the college’s founding in 1965. 

ChattState Celebrates 10 Years of Impact at the Michael P. Hennen Hospitality & Culinary Center

This April, Chattanooga State Community College celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Michael P. Hennen Hospitality & Culinary Center—a milestone marking a decade of hands-on learning, student achievement, and career preparation in hospitality and culinary arts.

The center began with an ambitious goal: to create a space where students could gain real-world experience and launch meaningful careers.  

Today, that vision has become a reality.  

ChattState Celebrates Induction of 24 Adult Learners into Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society

This April, Chattanooga State Community College hosted the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society Induction Ceremony, honoring 24 outstanding adult students for their academic excellence and perseverance. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic journeys of these high-achieving non-traditional students. 

ChattState Student Talent Takes Center Stage at SkillsUSA Statewide Competition

Chattanooga State Community College students once again showcased their technical excellence on the statewide stage at this spring’s SkillsUSA Conference, held in Chattanooga.

Often described as the “Olympics of the trades,” SkillsUSA gives students a powerful platform to demonstrate in-demand skills, earn scholarships and professional tools, and connect directly with industry leaders. This year, ChattState students rose to the occasion, earning top honors across a wide range of disciplines.

ChattState Spring 2026 Fine Arts Lineup: Music, Dinner Theatre, Art, Horror, and More

Chattanooga State Community College this week announced an exciting lineup of fine arts events for the Spring 2026 semester. The lineup includes art shows, recitals, and live theatre, including a musical reimagining of the horror classic The Evil Dead. 

Unless noted otherwise, all events are free to the public and presented at the Chattanooga State Humanities Theatre.

Lighting the Way: ChattState Honors First-Generation Scholars at Tri-Alpha Induction

Few stories are more powerful than those of people who change the direction of their lives, and Chattanooga State Community College is no stranger to helping students achieve big goals.

Inspiration was on display during the College’s inaugural induction ceremony for Tri-Alpha, a national honor society recognizing high-achieving first-generation college students. 

Last month, ChattState honored current and former first-generation students while celebrating the founding of the College’s Alpha Alpha Alpha chapter, the first of its kind at ChattState.
