Chattanooga State Celebrates Student Excellence Virtually

The spring 2020 semester will not soon be forgotten, but despite the challenges created by the pandemic, Chattanooga State Community College paved a virtual way to celebrate student excellence during its annual Hats Off to Excellence ceremony yesterday evening. This year’s ceremony recognizes outstanding students from divisions, departments, clubs, organizations, and for distinguished service and 4.0 grade point averages. Human Trafficking: The Invisible Slavery

The Humanities and Fine Arts Division of Chattanooga State Community College will present Human Trafficking: The Invisible Slavery, a conference to educate the audience, campus and the wider community about human trafficking in the Chattanooga region on October 26 and 27, 2018. This important two-day conference is free and open to the public; however, registration is required. 

Adult Student Recognition Day

Chattanooga State Community College will host a special recognition paying homage to adult students on Wednesday, September 26 in the main hallway of the Omniplex Building from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to accommodate student work and family schedules. Pizza and light refreshments will be available. The event is open to both current students as well as the public.

5th Annual Drupal Camp Chattanooga Coming June 16

Chattanooga Drupal Camp is an annual conference that brings together Web developers from all over the world to learn, network and discuss Web development and the Drupal content management system (CMS). Hosted by Chattanooga State Community College on Saturday, June 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Health Science Center building on the main campus, registrants will receive a free t-shirt and lunch for their $30 registration fee.

First VEX EDR Competition Saturday at Volkswagen Academy

Chattanooga State has had the distinct pleasure of co-sponsoring VEX competitions for high school students interested in STEM-based robotics concepts since 2013. Ooltewah High School’s Career and Technical Education /CAD teacher Lynda Pickett approached Chattanooga State’s Beth Ruta, Engineering Technology professor and department head, with the idea of a VEX competition for any HCDE high school team. What began with three teams in 2013 grew to 10 teams in 2017.

Veteran’s Educational Forum is Wednesday

The Alpha Beta Mu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at Chattanooga State Community College invites the community to its “Honors in Action” forum on Wednesday, November 29 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Omniplex Building, room OMN-124, on the main campus, located at 4501 Amnicola Highway.

The forum will focus on information and resources that will aid veterans with employment opportunities. Several organizations throughout the Chattanooga area will participate in an educational panel discussion at the event.

Drupal Camp Cha 2016 at ChattState

Chattanooga State will host its 4th Annual Drupal Camp 2016 on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Health Science Center building on the main campus located at 4501 Amnicola Highway. The $25 camp fee includes a box lunch and t-shirt and goodies. Registration opens at 8 a.m.

Remembering July 16th

Chattanooga, TN (July 12, 2016) --- Last year, the Chattanooga State community came together to mourn the loss of the Fallen Five following the events that occurred on July 16, 2015. That solemn date remains forever etched in the minds of students, faculty, and staff. Chattanooga State Community College will hold a brief ceremony marking the first anniversary of this day on Friday, July 15 beginning at 11:15 a.m. in the Amphitheater on the main campus.
