ChattState Hosts Ivy Tech Community College

Chattanooga, TN (August 25, 2015) --- On Wednesday, August 26, representatives from Ivy Tech Community College, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development will be at Chattanooga State Community College to meet with leaders from the Tennessee Board of Regents, Chattanooga State, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce and government officials.

Governor Haslam to Present Check

Chattanooga State Community College is pleased to announce that Governor Bill Haslam will visit the College on Thursday, June 11 to present a check in the amount of $300,000 toward the purchase of equipment for the Industrial Maintenance Technology program at the Kimball site.

Join us on Thursday, June 11, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the automotive shop in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, building 3.

Chattanooga State Hosts 2nd Annual Drupal Camp

Chattanooga, TN --- Building on the success of last year’s camp, Chattanooga State will host the 2nd Annual Drupal Camp on Saturday, September 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and costs $25 to attend. Included is a box lunch and afternoon snack.

Drupal is a free open-source content management system (CMS) written in PHP programming language. This event is an attendee-driven; completely volunteer initiative catered to everyone – curious beginners, designers, developers, and business owners.

CEO Speaker Series to Feature Mitch Patel & Scott Dieter

Chattanooga, TN --- The Tennessee Small Business Development Center and The Company Lab continue their commitment to small business entrepreneurs as they present the “CEO Speaker Series - The Talk of the Town” on Wednesday, January 15 from 8:00-10:30 a.m. Sponsored by Cohutta Banking Company, a division of Synovus’ Bank, member FDIC, and held at the Doubletree Hotel Ballroom located at 407 Chestnut Street, the morning begins with a free complimentary breakfast. Chattanooga State president James L. Catanzaro will preside over the event.

Internationally Acclaimed Theoretical Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku to Speak at ChattState

Chattanooga, TN – Futurist, communicator, and popular figure for science, Dr. Michio Kaku will visit Chattanooga State Community College on Thursday, January 23, 2014, with a unique presentation titled, “The Future of the Mind and Beyond.” This event is free and open to the public. Captioning will be provided for guests with hearing loss.

ChattState Luncheon Salutes Veterans

 

Chattanooga, TN --- The Chattanooga State Veteran Affairs Office and Student Government Association hosted the annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon on November 11 honoring more than 100 student, faculty and staff veterans.

Mike Battery 3rd Battalion 14 Marines presented colors followed by the National Anthem sung by the Chattanooga State Concert Choir. A warm welcome by college president Dr. James L. Catanzaro preceded words of encouragement by veteran Sgt. Stephen Smitley.

Chattanooga State to Host Drupal Camp Chattanooga

On Saturday, November 9, Chattanooga State will host an all-day Drupal Camp with breakout sessions and “Birds of a Feather” – or like-minded individuals who meet informally for discussions without a pre-planned agenda. The first ever event held in Chattanooga is an opportunity to get an overview of Drupal and what it can do. Attendees will get to know the developers and user community in the Southeast region, and hear keynote speaker Josh Taylor of Acquia discuss what problems Drupal 8 is trying to solve.
