Chattanooga State Offers Variety of Dance Classes During Fall Term

This fall Chattanooga State presents a wide assortment of continuing education dance classes, all of which will be offered on the college’s main campus, located at 4501 Amnicola Highway.  The course selection features several classes that focus exclusively on the smooth styles-the foxtrot, waltz and tango- of ballroom dancing.  Other classes coach couples towards refining the rhythmic moves and patterns of Latin dance or mastering the fast-paced techniques and expressions of swing dancing.  For individuals interested in learning the steps for the hustle, the movements of salsa, or the timin

Chattanooga State Will Host Exhibit Spotlighting Jewish History in Tennessee

The exhibit, Bagels & Barbeque: The Jewish Experience in Tennessee, documents the history of Jewish immigration to Tennessee.  Beginning August 10 through September 16, Chattanooga State Community College will present this exhibit in the August R. Kolwyck Library, which is located on the college’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway.  The exhibit will be open to the public free of charge. 

Chattanooga State Hosts Spring Meeting of the Southeast Tennessee Regional P-16 Council

Chattanooga State will host the spring meeting of the Southeast Tennessee Regional P-16 Council on Friday, May 22.  The breakfast meeting convenes at 8 a.m. on Chattanooga State’s main campus in the Center for Advanced Technology.  Some of the dignitaries attending the meeting will be Representative Tommie F. Brown, District 28; Representative Jim Cobb, District 31; Representative Richard Floyd, District 27; Representative Gerald McCormick, District 26; and Bledsoe County Mayor Gregg Ridley.

Chattanooga State Sponsors Mayoral Forum on February 24

Chattanooga State Technical Community College has invited three candidates, all of whom are seeking the office of Mayor of Chattanooga, to participate in a forum on Tuesday, February 24, at 10 a.m.  The event will be held in the Humanities Theatre on Chattanooga State’s main campus located at 4501 Amnicola Highway.  Participating candidates are Rob Healy, Ron Littlefield, and Thomas Smith, II.  The forum is open to the public free of charge.

Chattanooga State Sponsors Lunchtime Discussions on Evolution

Chattanooga State Technical Community College invites the public to attend a series of two lunchtime presentations focused on Charles Darwin and evolution.  Led by David Wollert, associate professor of biology, the forums are intentionally informal and will take place on Chattanooga State’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway in Room 126 of the Omniplex building.  Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.   The dates, times and topics are noted below.
