Fall 2025 Fine Arts Calendar Includes Charlotte’s Web Performance and 60th Anniversary Alumni Night

Chattanooga State Community College this week announced an exciting lineup of fine arts events for the Fall 2025 semester. The lineup includes art exhibitions, live theater, recitals, and a 60th Anniversary Alumni Reception. Don't miss these exciting opportunities to see the work of ChattState's talented students, alumni, and faculty members.

Unless noted otherwise, all events are free to the public and presented at the Chattanooga State Humanities Theatre.

SkillsUSA Success Confirms Career Readiness for ChattState Students

Last month, Chattanooga State Community College students took to the national stage to show off career-ready excellence at the 2025 SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta. 

Held June 23-28, SkillsUSA’s National Championship is the country’s premier career and technical education (CTE) event. The National Leadership & Skills Conference gives students a platform to demonstrate in-demand technical skills, earn scholarships and tools, and connect directly with industry leaders and employers. 

Chattanooga State Celebrates Induction of 44 Adult Learners into Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society

 Saturday, May 10, Chattanooga State Community College hosted the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society Induction Ceremony, honoring 44 outstanding adult students for their academic excellence and perseverance. The event, held on the college’s main campus, marked a significant milestone in the academic journeys of these high-achieving non-traditional students. 

Canceled: Spring 2025 Eggstravaganza at Chattanooga State

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Chattanooga State’s 2025 Open House Eggstravaganza has been canceled. The event was originally scheduled for April 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

Despite this cancelation, your next step toward your future doesn’t have to wait. There are still plenty of ways to explore all that ChattState has to offer: 

A CEO’s Journey: David Wade Reflects on His Path from ChattState to EPB Leadership

What does it take to become a CEO? For David Wade, it was a journey of hard work that began at Chattanooga State and remains a testament to the power of community-focused leadership. 

Wade’s career began in 1983 when he went to work for EPB as a line helper, an entry-level position. Soon, Wade enrolled in night classes at ChattState, where he studied engineering and went on to earn an associate degree before transferring to UTC to earn a bachelor’s in engineering. 

Dinner of Firsts 2024 Breaks Records, Changes Lives

The sun has set on Dinner of Firsts 2024, but its impact will continue to shine for first-generation college students, their families, and our local workforce for years to come. The sold-out event, presented by First Horizon and Morning Pointe Senior Living, surpassed all expectations by netting a record-breaking $114,854.  

Local community leader Jim Coleman, President and CEO of Erlanger and a first-generation community college graduate, was honored with a roast on Thursday, November 21. Jim's story serves as a shining example of how access to education can change lives. 

Helping Students Further Their Education Through tnAchieves

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga State Community College and tnAchieves got together in the ChattState Health Science Center to celebrate the over 10,000 students who have enrolled for classes at the community college with the assistance of Tennessee Promise.

Tennessee Promise grants students up to two years of free tuition and coverage of mandatory fees at a Tennessee community college or college of applied technology.
