October 4, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- Dr. Beth Norton, vice president for Academic Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Rebecca Ashford, president, Chattanooga State Community College (ChSCC) and Dr. Brian Noland, president, East Tennessee State University (ETSU) recently signed an articulation agreement between the two institutions. This agreement will develop a strong partnership that will facilitate a smooth and seamless movement of students that complete their associate degree at Chattanooga State to ETSU.
October 3, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- The Academic Affairs Division at Chattanooga State Community College recently announced the following Faculty promotions and tenure recognitions approved by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
(Chattanooga, TN) --- Tennessee Promise opened the door for thousands of high school seniors to attend community college since its inception in the fall of 2015 by providing a last-dollar scholarship to cover tuition and fees not covered by the Pell Grant, HOPE scholarship, or TSAA funds. The Promise, administered by tnAchieves, recently developed COMPLETE grants of up to $1,000 that are available to Tennessee Promise students helping to ensure that unexpected financial burdens are not barriers on their path to college graduation.
July 7, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- The Dual Enrollment Grant (DEG) expansion recently passed by the Tennessee state legislature will now provide more funds so Tennessee students can take more classes under the grant. Chattanooga State Community College dual enrollment students have enjoyed the benefits of the DEG for several years. With the expansion, high school students can now receive five tuition-free dual enrollment classes.
June 20, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- Chattanooga State Community College recently recognized students for excellence during its annual Hats Off to Excellence ceremony. In addition to academic and departmental awards, outstanding students involved in campus clubs and organizations, and awards for distinguished service were presented.
May 20, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- There has never been a better time for adults to begin or return to college using the Tennessee Reconnect Grant. The class of 2022 was composed of 1,221 graduate candidates and of that amount, 50% of graduates were age 25 or older.
Chattanooga State is proud to announce that the following students have attained Dean’s List status for the 2022 spring semester. To be eligible, students must have completed 12 or more hours of college-level work with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for the semester. (Support classes are not included in the calculation.)

May 2, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2022 will be held May 6 in the Health & Physical Fitness Building (Gym) on the main campus of Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway, Chattanooga, 37406.
Chattanooga State will provide Amazon hourly employees access to more than 100 areas of study. Amazon’s Career Choice program provides full tuition to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere.
Registration is open for BASF’s TECH Academy for rising juniors and seniors in Hamilton County. Scheduled for the week of June 13 and provided through a partnership with Chattanooga State Community College, the BASF program introduces students to technical and craft careers through hands-on demonstrations and experiments at Chattanooga State, tours of local employers and career-focused discussions with BASF personnel.
