Chattanooga State Technical Community College invites the public to attend a series of two lunchtime presentations focused on Charles Darwin and evolution. Led by David Wollert, associate professor of biology, the forums are intentionally informal and will take place on Chattanooga State’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway in Room 126 of the Omniplex building. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. The dates, times and topics are noted below.

Annual Science Olympiad to convene at ChattState The annual Science Olympiad will be held at Chattanooga State Technical Community College on February 21. Competition begins at 8:45 a.m. and the day ends with an awards program at 3:30 p.m.
Chattanooga State Technical Community College invites the public to the local premiere of the documentary film Paradise Lost: The Religious Life of Charles Darwin on Thursday, February 12. The screening begins at 7 p.m. in Room C30 in the Center for Advanced Technology, which is located on Chattanooga State’s main campus at 4501 Amnicola Highway. The event is open to the public free of charge.
February 12, 2009, is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. In observation of this historical event, Chattanooga State will participate in a national celebration of Charles Darwin by hosting an event called “Darwin Day.” Chattanooga State, along with other groups across the United States, will celebrate the life of Charles Darwin while promoting an understanding of his contributions to science.
During 2009, Chattanooga State Technical Community College will sponsor special events and activities showcasing a variety of scientific themes as part of a national initiative known as the Year of Science 2009. On Thursday, February 12, Chattanooga State launches its year‐long celebration by hosting the local premiere of the documentary film Paradise Lost: The Religious Life of Charles Darwin.
