The path to a successful career often starts with a single opportunity. For many graduates, that opportunity began at Chattanooga State Community College. Their journeys were celebrated during a recent alumni banquet recognizing distinguished alumni and honoring 50 years of Lady Tigers basketball at a recent game.
The 2026 Annual ChattState Alumni Homecoming Banquet honored outstanding graduates whose careers and service reflect the College’s mission of transforming lives through education.
After Oregon’s win over USC, Head Coach Dan Lanning said, “We didn’t play Chattanooga State today, like some other places.” Chattanooga State may not have a football team with a national spotlight, but we know how to win for our community. For 60 years, our victories have been measured in opportunity and achievements, not touchdowns. We improve lives through access, affordability, quality education, and workforce readiness, and we continue to deliver results that matter.

A number of Chattanooga State Community College alumni and former coaches on Monday, October 29, were inducted into the Chattanooga State Athletic Hall of Fame during a formal dinner and induction ceremony.
ChattState Athletics Director Tammy Swenson said the Hall of Fame honors exceptional alumni, coaches, and athletic administrators who have made a significant contribution to the College. The Athletic Hall of Fame members receive a plaque and enjoy a sense of pride for their accomplishments.
CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Chattanooga State Community College honored old traditions and established new ones last week during a three-day homecoming celebration that culminated with the crowning of the ChattState Homecoming Royals and the recognition of a notable alumnus.
A celebration of the college’s almost 60-year history, homecoming week kicked off on Monday, Nov. 27, with the introduction of the ChattState homecoming court in the student cafeteria.
June 8, 2022 (Chattanooga, TN) --- The Athletic Department at Chattanooga State Community College will offer two upcoming athletic day camps for girls, one featuring volleyball and the other basketball.
The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) recently announced that Chattanooga State’s Blythe Golden, head softball coach and Greg Dennis, head baseball coach, were each named Coach of the Year in their respective sports for 2021.
Chattanooga State’s women’s volleyball team ended their 2020-2021 season as Region VII runner-up while also receiving both player and coaching honors. Players named to the all-region team included #21 Hannah Dutton, libero and #22 Sydney Pittman, middle blocker. Both women are completing their freshman year at Chattanooga State. In addition, first-year coach Kristy Lenoir was named 2021 Coach of the Year by the TCCAA Athletic Association, NJCCA Region VII.
Chattanooga State Community College recently added two new volleyball coaches to the athletic coaching staff. Kristy Lenoir joins as the team’s new head coach and Zach Forgani joins as the assistant coach, replacing the program’s founding coaches, Janet Tate and Robin Moore who both retired earlier this year.
“Zach and I are looking forward to building a winning tradition here at Chattanooga State,” states Coach Lenoir. “We are excited to meet our team and to get in the gym and start working. Janet and Robin laid a good foundation, and we're excited to build on that.”
