Time for Culinary Student Capstone Lunches
The Michael P. Hennen Hospitality and Culinary Center at Chattanooga State is pleased to announce the Culinary Student Capstone Lunches. Each week will feature a different menu created and prepared by one of our chefs-in-training. Open to the public, tickets are $12 per person, and the lunches will be served in the Hennen Center located in the CBIH Building on the main campus.

ChattState Alumni Engagement Survey Underway
If you have children at home, or even in your family you spend time with, you understand the importance of the word “Why.” It is one of the first words or concepts a toddler learns to use consistently. Author Simon Sinek penned an entire book based on the concept of why entitled: Start with Why, How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action. In his book, he encourages individuals, organizations, and corporations to not only understand why they do what they do, but then to capitalize on that understanding.
Chattanooga State Nursing Program Consistently High Quality
Chattanooga State’s Nursing program continues to exceed the Tennessee Board of Nursing benchmark. In fact, our May 2017 cohort of 107 RN graduates had a 100% licensure pass rate. Chattanooga State is unique in that we are the only institution in the state of Tennessee with such a large graduating class in one cohort to achieve 100% on their first attempt. The national average for passing the nursing licensure exam for 2017 is 87.11%, and the state average is 90.23%.
EWI Cumulative Scholarship Giving Exceeds $80,000
Executive Women International (EWI) of Chattanooga recently contributed a $4,600 check to the Chattanooga State Community College Foundation. Since chartering in 1987, EWI of Chattanooga has contributed more than $83,065 to Chattanooga State Foundation’s Executive Women International of Chattanooga Adult Students in Scholastic Transition Scholarship. This scholarship provides an opportunity for women, particularly single parents and displaced homemakers, to return to school in order to enhance their career opportunities.
