Oh my, where has the time gone? Why has the time moved by so quickly?
Either way, it was very special to be reflective and appreciate how our paths crossed with Chattanooga State. Our professional careers were launched into meaningful job opportunities. Let’s go back to the beginning.

It’s back to school time! I love this time of year. It’s a time of new notebooks, new schedules and new friends. For many of our newest Alumni Association members, this may be the first time in many years it is not back to school time for you.
Tiger Totality Solar Eclipse Viewing Party in Dayton
On Monday, August 21, Chattanooga State Community College will celebrate the Total Eclipse of the Sun by having a Tiger Totality Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the Dayton Campus, 200 N. 4th Avenue, Dayton, TN. The event will run from 12 Noon until 4 p.m. on the Dayton Football Field behind campus.

Last year, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce blew our minds with the creative and super-memorable Mr. Perfect video promotions. According to the Chamber:

In this day and age of social media and online meetings, staying in touch with others has become increasingly easier. However, in my opinion there is no replacement for personal interaction and being part of a group physically. The Chattanooga State Alumni Association offers the best of both of these worlds and we would love for you to join us and be part of it!
ChattState Alum Places Second at National MCAA Competition
During the National Masonry Skills Challenge at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry in Las Vegas, Chattanooga State alum Austin McEwen placed second in the second year apprentice category competing against other apprentice masons from across the U.S.A. 2010 Collegiate High cum laude graduate, Austin holds an Associate of Arts degree and is employed by Adams Masonry, Inc. He received a scholarship from the local Masonry Contractor’s Association to further his education at Chattanooga State.
Alumni Throwback Thursday Reception March 16 on campus

Chattanooga State Community College co-hosted the 7th annual joint UTC/ ChattState Physical Therapy Forum at UTC on Thursday, Jan. 26. During the event, ChattState presented its PTA Alumni of the Year award to Felicia Jackson.

First Alum, First Woman Elected Chair of the Chattanooga State Foundation
The Chattanooga State Foundation announced that Dr. Maricela Rodriguez, a Chattanooga State alumna and local dentist, is the new Foundation Board Chair and President. She will serve a two-year term. Alan Cates is the immediate past chair and president. Additional officers include Edna Varner as vice-chair and chair-elect, John Germ as treasurer, Britt Tabor as assistant treasurer and Roberta Miles as secretary.
