The Seamless Alignment and Integrated Learning Support (SAILS) program is offered by the mathematics department to prepare students for college math. This pioneering program brings together college and high school math teachers to deliver the bridge math course to high school seniors in a blended learning environment. By utilizing technology and providing individual assistance in bridge math, students who previously struggled in math classes are able to learn and succeed.
The benefits for participants include a head start on their college career. By earning college credit while still in high school, students enter college prepared for math courses. They also save time and money during the course of their college career. Students who succeed in their fall semester high school math class qualify to take college math courses in the Early College Hybrid Online (ECHO) program. In addition, high school seniors, who have scored less than 19 on the mathematics portion of the ACT, are eligible to participate in the program.
