Registration for BASF’s free educational summer program now open—Jordan Rudzinski
Jordan Rudzinski of Local 3 covers the upcoming BASF TECH academy, "Registration is open for BASF’s TECH Academy, a program that introduces rising juniors and seniors in Hamilton County to technical and craft careers.
The BASF program, in partnership with Chattanooga State Community College, kicks off the week of June 12. It guides students through hands-on demonstrations and experiments at Chattanooga State while leading career-focused discussions with BASF personnel and providing tours of local employers."

VW Chattanooga Electric Vehicle Assembly Sparks Workforce Training
Volkswagen Academy in Chattanooga recently showcased its Mechatronics Akademie and Robotronics Technology Apprenticeship Program to potential students and parents. The academy is a partnership between Chattanooga State Community College, Hamilton County Schools, and Volkswagen and aims to develop a talent pipeline for the automaker as it transitions to building more electric vehicles. The Mechatronics Akademie provides high school students with dual enrollment courses in robotics, electronics, computer systems, and product engineering, while the Robotronics Technology Apprenticeship Program offers vocational classroom and paid on-the-job training to post-high school graduates. Graduates of the program receive a conditional job offer from Volkswagen. The automaker plans to double the number of high school students in the Mechatronics Akademie next school year and expand the apprenticeship program. Chattanooga launches “Gig City Goes Quantum” to prepare for the Quantum Age—EPB
At the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C) meeting, Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly introduced "Gig City Goes Quantum," an initiative aimed at fostering education, employment, and business opportunities in the quantum technology sector here in Chattanooga. The program will utilize the EPB Quantum NetworkSM powered by Qubitekk to expedite quantum technology commercialization through partnerships with community leaders, educational institutions, and businesses.
Starting on World Quantum Day (April 14), the initiative aims to engage people of all ages in over 1,000 Quantum Learning Activities by May 31. ChattState is excited to participate in World Quantum Day by hosting a discussion on The Coming Quantum Age by Qubitekk President, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Dr. Duncan Earl.

UTC & Chattanooga State sign Dual Admission Agreement
UTC and Chattanooga State Community College have agreed on a new Dual Admission program that benefits transfer students: ChattState UTC Connect. Under the agreement, students admitted to ChattState can now be admitted to UTC immediately. The deal was signed by Dr. Rebecca Ashford of Chatt State and Dr. Steven Angle of UTC, and Chatt State students were given a preview of UTC's departments that will support their academic journey.
