Construction Systems Concentration
The Construction Systems Concentration is designed to provide a pathway to supervisory and managerial positions for students with a background in construction. The student will upgrade his/her construction management skills with courses in construction planning and scheduling, estimating, contracts & specifications, and materials and methods.
Admittance to the program of study requires:
- A certificate of completion from a joint apprenticeship training program approved by the US-DOL (IBEW, United Association– plumbers and pipefitters, Tri-State Carpenters and Millwrights, or Ironworkers)
- A construction or construction craft diploma from the Tenn. College of Applied Tech. (building construction tech., air conditioning and refrigeration, welding tech., industrial electricity, industrial electronics, masonry, plumbing, or turf management)
- Or a technical American Council on Education credit for educational experiences while serving in the armed services.
Students are awarded up to 23 hours of practicum credit for prior learning experiences, but must meet with an advisor for determination on how many credit hours to be awarded.
