No Cost Health Clinic Reaffirms Student Support at ChattState

CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Last week, Chattanooga State Community College became the first community college in Tennessee to provide an on-campus Student Health Clinic. Funded in part by a $500,000 Tennessee Department of Health grant, the clinic offers no-cost healthcare to students aged 18 and older, regardless of insurance status.  

ChattState Hosts Prescription Drug Abuse Epidemic Presentation

Chattanooga, TN --- In honor of National Pharmacy Week, Chattanooga State’s Pharmacy Technician Program will host a presentation on Tennessee’s Epidemic of Prescription Drug Abuse on Friday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Humanities Theatre. Angela McKinney Jones, the Director of the Tennessee Office of Prevention Services within the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, will be the keynote speaker to the campus community. The program is free and open to the public as well as health and educational professionals.

Community Health, Fun & Wellness Expo is Friday

Chattanooga State’s “7th Annual Health, Fun, and Wellness Expo” will be tomorrow, May 2, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Health Science Center located on the Amnicola campus. This large comprehensive health fair is open to the public. It offers numerous free health screenings and exhibits from area health professionals and wellness-related organizations in addition to a blood drive. Parking is free and easily accessible.

6th Annual Community Health, Fun, and Wellness Expo

Chattanooga, Tenn. ---- The Community Health Institute at Chattanooga State Community College will host the “6th Annual Health, Fun, and Wellness Expo” on Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. in the Health Science Center located on the main campus on Amnicola Highway. Parking is free and easily accessible.

Numerous free health screenings as well as exhibits by area health professionals and wellness-related organizations will be offered at this comprehensive health fair. Pharmacists will also be available to answer questions.
