Position Summary

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Student Assistants in the Student Experience Office will support a variety of areas, including working the front desk of the gym and game room, assisting with the creation of student IDs, and helping with S.E.O. events and programming. Duties include providing a warm and professional welcome to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, assisting with campus errands, helping promote events through the creation and posting of flyers and assisting with our social media accounts. 

Required Qualifications

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills

*Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

*Willingness to learn and take initiative in a dynamic, student-focused environment

*Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with students, staff, faculty, and guests

*Basic knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook)

*Comfortable with light physical tasks such as hanging flyers or event setup

Work Experience

Previous customer service, clerical, or event support experience is a plus but not required. Experience working in a campus office, assisting with student events, or using social media for promotion is helpful. Students who have volunteered or participated in student organizations, clubs, or campus life activities are encouraged to apply, as these experiences demonstrate valuable transferable skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a customer service, office, or campus programming setting

*Familiarity with Canva or other basic graphic design tools

*Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts

*Comfortable using office equipment (printer, copier, ID card system, etc.)

*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

*Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment

*Interest in student engagement, event planning, or student life initiatives

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position may require periods of standing, walking, bending, or light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) during event setup, campus errands, or assisting in the gym or game room. Work will be performed in a variety of campus environments, including office settings, recreational areas, and outdoor event spaces. Students must be able to work both independently and in team settings. Reliable attendance and adherence to assigned schedules are essential.

*Comfortable using or learning basic technology platforms, including BadgePass, Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media
