Information Session RSVP - Emergency Medical Services
The Associate of Applied Science Paramedic degree will provide the paramedic student or licensed paramedic at Chattanooga State Community College an additional pathway for degree completion, and will provide training critical to meeting the needs of the healthcare/emergency medical services workforce of Tennessee. The embedded Paramedic Technical Certificate includes advanced knowledge and skills focused on the acute management and transportation of critical and emergent patients. The General Education portion of this degree program will insure that paramedic graduates are competent in the skills necessary to compete in today’s competitive job market, as well as prepare paramedic students for successful completion of the Technical Certificate.

NOTE: Licensure as a Paramedic in Tennessee reflects equivalency of the ChSCC Paramedic Technical Certificate
Returning students (not currently enrolled students) should adhere to the following pathway:
- Apply to the college for readmission through the online application
- o Note: Since they are returning students, they are applying for readmission, NOT new student admission)
- o Select the AAS (2-year) degree
- o Choose the Paramedic AAS degree (code: PARM)
- o Complete the application and submit
- Students will need to meet with their advisors, determine if the graduation requirements have been met, and complete the intent to graduate form, and submit to Records
- Students will be notified regarding the College Exit Exam dates and times (required to graduate)
Accreditation
The Chattanooga State Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
