Chattanooga State Community College Selected by Amazon as an Education Partner for Career Choice Program

Chattanooga State will provide Amazon hourly employees access to more than 100 areas of study. Amazon’s Career Choice program provides full tuition to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere.

Chattanooga State Announces Tiger Momentum Days

It’s good news for high school seniors that have applied to Chattanooga State … Tiger Momentum has returned! While high school seniors from Soddy-Daisy, Bledsoe, Sequatchie, Ooltewah, Grundy, South Pittsburg, Whitwell and Sequoyah attended sessions during November, seniors from Hixson, Howard, Tyner, Central, Sequatchie, Red Bank, East Ridge and Lookout Valley will participate in these next exciting events scheduled for January 10, 11, 12 or 14, 2022.

Chattanooga State Announces Fall Festival 2021

Chattanooga State’s Fall Festival on Saturday, October 30 combines free food, lots of fun, health services, tours, games, and learning activities for all ages from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main campus, 4501 Amnicola Highway, Chattanooga.

While mouth-watering aromas will fill the air offering free eats, kids can enjoy a little pre-Halloween trick or treating right on campus and play games courtesy of Student Activities.

Julie Bennet Honored at Chattanooga State Kimball Site

When Julie Bennett retired from Chattanooga State Community College in October 2020 after 36 years of service, it was without the usual fanfare. Working remotely, friends, colleagues and well-wishers attended a virtual retirement ceremony in her honor, but it was not quite the same as an in-person event. So, when a special room-naming ceremony in her honor was scheduled for August 30 at the Kimball Site, those same friends and colleagues finally got the chance to wish her well on her retirement, complete with real-live hugs.

Chattanooga State Announces Summer 2021 Dean’s List

Chattanooga State is proud to announce that students from the following counties have attained Dean’s List status for the 2021 summer semester. Eligibility requirements to make the Dean’s List includes students who have completed 12 or more hours of college-level work with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher for that semester. Dean’s List recognition is based on calculations at the end of the semester and cannot be updated later to reflect grade changes, such as removal of incompletes.

Chattanooga State Kimball Site Announces TN Reconnect Info Session

The Chattanooga State Kimball Site has announced two in-person Tennessee Reconnect Information Sessions for Thursday, May 27 at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. CT. Both sessions will be presented by Marsha Barker, Chattanooga State’s director of Adult Services. The site is located at 2100 Main Street in Kimball, TN.

Chattanooga State Expands Healthcare Training in 3 Rural Service Areas

When Tennessee Gov. Lee’s GIVE Grant was announced in November 2019, Chattanooga State, as one of its recipients, was poised for action to expand healthcare training in three of its rural service areas. In little more than a year’s time, industry certifications in OSHA, CPR, and Certified Patient Care Technicians were awarded to high school students from Bledsoe, Sequatchie and Marion counties.

Applications and Appetizers Coming to Chattanooga State Kimball Site

Chattanooga State Community College has put together an in-person, fun, free, mouth-watering event at the Kimball Site for individuals who apply or enroll for classes this fall. Applications and Appetizers will feature free appetizers from a local food truck vendor.

Folks in the Marion, Grundy and Sequatchie counties can look forward to free appetizers from Shane’s Chicken, Fish and More. This event will take place at the Chattanooga State Kimball Site, 2100 Main Street, Kimball, TN 37347, on Thursday, May 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. CT (Central Time).
