Tennessee Highway Patrol Recruiting Event at Chattanooga State

The Career Services department at Chattanooga State Community College, in partnership with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), will hold a recruiting event on Tuesday, October 17 for Tennessee Highway Patrol (Trooper) positions. Chattanooga State will sponsor the THP recruiting event that will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Health Science Center, room 1087. Attendees also may view agency helicopters, boats, cars, motorcycles, and other equipment they use.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is the highway patrol agency that is responsible for enforcing all federal and state laws relating to traffic on Tennessee’s federal and state highways. The agency serves 95 counties in eight districts across the state of Tennessee. They are a division of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

Troopers provide assistance to motorists in need, investigate traffic accidents that involve property damage, personal injury, or death. The THP agency is also responsible for conducting background checks on applicants for permits to carry handguns.

This event, open to anyone in the community, will provide the opportunity to discuss trooper positions and job requirements through the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
