Heart Health in the Black Community: A Black History Month Presentation

The Bond Arts and Culture Series at Chattanooga State Community College will wrap up its Black History Month celebration with “Heart Health in the Black Community,” a virtual Zoom presentation featuring Dr. Christopher Jenkins on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. ET. This discussion will focus on the importance of and the progress made surrounding African American heart health. This virtual presentation is free and open to all Chattanooga State students, faculty and staff as well as the Greater Chattanooga Community.

Dr. Christopher Jenkins is a native of Carrollton, Ga who earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Georgia state University in Atlanta, Georgia and obtained a Master of Science from Mississippi College.

Dr. Jenkins attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2017. He completed his training in internal medicine at Florida State University Hospital in Sarasota, Fl and became board certified in internal medicine in August 2020. He currently resides at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans as a general cardiology fellow and will soon join the interventional cardiology team at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. His hobbies include spending time with his family and practicing his lifelong passion for martial arts.
