Dear Chattanooga State Family,
You have been diligent in following the safety protocols to help stop the spread and to protect your community. I appreciate your diligence—it is paying off. With the continued decline in active cases of COVID-19 in our community, we are excited to announce that we will be shifting to Phase 3 on February 22.

ChattState Shifts to Phase 3 on February 22

As the number of active COVID-19 cases continues to decline in our community, ChattState will shift to the Phase 3 level of operation beginning Monday, February 22. The campus is now open to the public; appointments are strongly recommended. All students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors are expected to continue to follow safety protocols: social distancing, face masks, and the daily health questionnaire. How does this affect you? 

  • Students: hybrid, online, virtual instructional delivery continue. 
  • Current/Prospective Students: Academic affairs and Student Affairs offices are open—appointments are strongly suggested. 
  • Economic and Workforce Development Classes: will continue to run as scheduled. 
  • Faculty/Staff: Virtual/online meetings recommended. In-person meetings are permitted following safety protocols. If you are able to work from home, please do so.
  • General Public: campus open to public with appointments recommended; walk-ins permitted. Must complete visitors’ COVID 19 health questionnaire

Important Financial Aid Deadlines

  • Tennessee Promise 2020-21 FAFSA filing deadline extended from February 1, 2021 to March 1, 2021 
  • Tennessee Reconnect Grant Program 2020-21 FAFSA filing deadline for the extended from February 1, 2021, to May 15, 2021.  
  • Dual Enrollment Grant application deadline for the Spring 2021 term extended from February 1, 2021, to May 15, 2021.  
  • Dual Enrollment Grant application deadline for the Spring 2021 term at Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT) from March 1, 2021 to May 15, 2021

Bond Arts & Culture Series

The purpose of this series is to bring in and promote African American arts and culture on ChSCC campus throughout the academic year. Check out the Bond Arts & Culture Series Facebook page to find all of the events lined up for February, the next event is African American Film Festival with several movie discussion panels on February 16–18. 


Career Talk Tuesdays

Join the Career Services Staff (Webex room) to participate in an informal virtual Q & A about a variety of topics including how to pick a major, resumes, Spring Virtual Career Fair, etc. on February 16th 5pm– 6pm.  


Student Resources

  • Tutoring: Virtual tutoring services are available to you. 
  • Emergency Aid: The Student Support Center is available to assist students struggling to meet their basic needs. Please use the Wellness Check on TigerWeb to let us know if you need assistance. 
  • Technology Support: Devices (laptops, hotspots, etc.) are available through the College. To request a device, complete the technology request form
  • Support Services: Chattanooga State is dedicated to delivering support services and resources to assist our students. Visit the virtual Student Support Center to learn more about the many services offered. 
  • Academic Resources: Visit the Spring 2021 Update page for a listing of academic resources, including links to the Math Center, Andrews Reading and Writing Center, the Testing Center, Kolwyck Library, and more.
  • Career Services Center: The Career Services Center is available to provide services online or by phone to Chattanooga State students, alumni, faculty and staff. Services include career counseling & assistance with selecting a major, job search planning, resume writing assistance, interview skills, and more. College Exit Exam

For students who will complete associate degree requirements in May or summer months of 2021 and who have an intent to graduate form on file with Records, you will receive information about completing the required College Exit Exam via your student email (TigerMail) in mid-March. The exam is online, takes approximately 45 minutes and can be taken at your convenience by May 1, 2021. The results from the College Exit Exam are used for institutional improvement planning as well as an indicator of the learning within the required general education courses.
