Meeting with an academic advisor is crucial to starting your college career on the right foot. Whether you're planning to transfer or pursue a career program, advisors assist with selecting the correct courses to meet the academic requirements for your chosen area of study. Advisors can also help you narrow down your career choices to one that meets your personal skills and interests. You'll discuss your academic and career goals with your advisor during your advising session. Together you'll make an Educational Plan leading to a timely graduation.

Always keep your advising related materials together in one folder, along with a sheet of paper to write down questions as they come to mind. Since advising is so essential to a successful college experience, all students are required to meet with their academic advisor before registering for classes each semester. Remember to always talk to your advisor when choosing or revising your course schedules.

Academic Fresh Start

"Academic Fresh Start" is a plan of academic forgiveness provided for undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic responsibility following their return. The Academic Fresh Start allows the calculation of the quality point average and credit hours toward graduation to be based only on work after returning to college. (See the Academic Catalog for eligibility requirements.)
