Position Description


Position Summary
  • FWS Position (Library)
Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Answer phone and directional questions
Check books in and out
Operate computer and copy machine
Variety of public service desk duties
Shelve books
Dust shelves
Box withdrawn books, etc.
Assist students with registration, eLearn, databases, printing, etc.
Clean keyboards, mice and monitors

Required Qualifications

Must be computer literate
Have a positive and friendly attitude
Must be able to routinely lift boxes weighing 10-15 pounds, push heavy book trucks, lift books above head, read and
understand decimal numbers, bend, stoop and stretch
Must not have asthma or back problems and must be able to tolerate repetitious tasks and work well with others

Work Experience

Previous work experience dealing with customer service

Preferred Qualifications

Public service experience is preferred
Knowledge of various computer softwares (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, eLearn, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot technology issues

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
