Position Description

Position Summary
  • Federal Work Study Student (Library)
Typical Duties and Responsibilties
  • Provide technical assistance to library patrons (printers, eLearn, Tigerweb, MS Office, registration, etc.)
  • Answer Student Technology Support phone and provide assistance
  • Answer general campus questions, including directional assistance
  • Check books/materials in and out
  • Examine shelves to make sure books are in correct order
  • Reshelve books, dust shelves and box books as needed
  • Enter new books into the computer inventory and prepare new books for shelving
  • Keep paper stocked in printers
  • Clean keyboards, mice, monitors, whiteboards, and tables
  • Provide general clerical assistance such as typing and filing
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Education and Training: High School Diploma required
  • Ability to read and understand decimal numbers
Work Experience Preferred Qualifications
  • At college level in English, reading, and mathematics
  • Possess good knowledge of computers, the internet, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Possess working knowledge of eLearn and TigerWeb
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service via e-mail, telephone, and other media
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
  • Ability to push heavy book carts
  • Ability to lift books above head
  • Ability to move easily in crowded areas (bend, stoop and stretch)
  • Must be able to tolerate repetitious tasks
