Position Description

Position Summary
  • Federal Work Study Student (Financial Aid)
Typical Duties and Responsibilties
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state regulations
  • Performs data analysis to identify discrepancies and determine appropriate action for resolution
  • Maintain appropriate data and generate reports as needed.
  • Assist in student communication functions within the financial aid office
  • Provide assistance with imaging student documents
  • Verify accuracy of documents and consistency of data from student’s   FAFSA, federal tax returns/tax transcripts, and other verification documents
  • Provide general clerical assistance such as typing and filing
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Education and Training: High School Diploma required
  • Work experience: Two years of experience in a business office setting


Work Experience Preferred Qualifications
  • Student should be college level in English, Reading, and Mathematics
  • Familiar with document imagining
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service via e-mail, telephone, and other media
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to run errands on campus as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

  • Ability to learn complex financial aid software (Banner)
  • Operate standard business office equipment (computer, printer, copier, scanner
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
