New Changes Greet Incoming Students

Students will encounter new changes in the Enrollment Services Center, Engineering Technology Division, Reading and Writing Center and note that the IMC front entrance is being remodeled to reflect a more modern look.</p>

Chattanooga State Goes Green by Installing Electric Car Chargers

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (September 3, 2013) – Chattanooga State Community College in an effort to accommodate all of its faculty, staff, and students has installed four new charging stations for electric cars on the main campus. The stations can be used to charge electric cars of any make and model. Chattanooga State is the first educational institution in the area to install the chargers.

Chattanooga State Welcomes Educational Program Innovator Fluke Fluker to Campus on April 17

On Tuesday, April 17, 2012, Chattanooga State Community College will host two presentations by educational activist and innovator Fluke Fluker. Fluker will lead two separate discussions that spotlight relevant education topics: the first presentation, entitled “The Impact of Poverty on the Urban High School and Community College Student,” begins at 11 a.m., and the second presentation, entitled “Why Learning Communities Make Sense,” begins at 2 p.m. Both events will be held in Room C30 in the Center for Advanced Technology on the college’s main campus located at 4501 Amnicola Highway.

Chattanooga State introduces Maymester

Chattanooga, Tenn. --- Chattanooga State Community College announces a unique and innovative way for students to earn credit hours toward graduation. Maymester is a condensed and accelerated semester scheduled between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of the summer term at Chattanooga State.

A full range of courses is available from the Social & Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics & Sciences, Humanities & Fine Arts, and Business & Information Technologies divisions at Chattanooga State.

Chattanooga State offers Wine Tasting Classes

The Continuing Education Department at Chattanooga State Community College offers a series of twelve wine tasting classes from March through May for wine lovers who wish to increase their knowledge of wine. All classes are held on Tuesdays, 7 – 8:30 p.m., at Create Here located at 55 E. Main Street.

Mindi Lamar is the instructor for each of the classes. Lamar has served on the steering committee of the Best Cellars event associated with Wine Over Water. Additionally, for the past three years, she has chaired the Bella Serta Wine Festival.

SBA Administrators visit Chattanooga’s TSBDC

Two officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration recently visited the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) in Chattanooga for the purpose of meeting the new director, discussing the local TSBDC’s 2012 objectives, and touring the Economic Development Center. Administrators, Traci Giddens and Walter Perry, met with Jeff Olingy, Chattanooga State vice president for economic & community development, and Sharyn Moreland, the new director of the TSBDC.
