Chattanooga, TN --- The Early Childhood Education A.A.S. degree program at Chattanooga State Community College recently earned full accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). According to John Haworth, Social and Behavioral Sciences Dean, “This national accreditation was awarded with no recommendations as our program met all of their rigorous requirements.”

Haworth gives credit to Christine Conn, Director of Education Programs, Associate Professor Linda Jarrett and Instructor Tania Henson for their tireless efforts in preparing the self-study and accreditation visit.

NAEYC’s national accreditation system has set the professional standards for early childhood education programs since 1985. The NAEYC strives to raise the quality of education for all children from birth through age eight by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. Comprised of 70,000 individual members and more than 300 regional Affiliate chapters, they work to deliver on the promise of high quality early learning.
