Now celebrating its seventh year, the Chattanooga State Foundation’s Dinner of Firsts is the signature “FUNdraising” event for Chattanooga State Community College. A community leader is honored each year who is the first in their family to attend college.
This year’s honoree is David Wade, a Chattanooga State graduate as well as the President and CEO of the EPB of Chattanooga, one of America’s largest publicly owned electric power providers. Those roasting David include Todd Crawford, Joe Ferguson, Richard Rogers, Steve Rogers, Justin Wade, and Aaron Webb. Jed Mescon will once again serve as our Master of Ceremonies.
This annual dinner event will be on Thursday evening, November 29, at The Chattanoogan, with Reggie Piercy, Senior Vice President of Vision Hospitality, serving as event chair. We are honored to have Jeff Jackson, Market President of First Tennessee and Greg Vital, President and CEO of Independent HealthCare Properties & Morning Pointe as our presenting sponsors and evening co-hosts for six years in a row. Proceeds from the event fund Chattanooga State Foundation’s First in the Family Scholarship and the Tom Edd Wilson First in the Family Endowed Scholarship, both for first generation college students. Earnings from the previous six years raised more than $340,000 in scholarship support.
