National Spire Honor Society

Chattanooga State is selecting outstanding students for membership into the National Chapter of Spire, the national honorary society for adult and other non-traditional students.

Selection Criteria for the National Spire Honor Society:

  • Qualify as adult or non-traditional student under locally-derived and maintained definitions;
  • Be within 12 months of graduation;
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
  • Have been involved in at least three (3) campus and/or community activities;

To be considered for membership in Spire, please request the Spire Personal Data Sheets from marsha.barker@chattanoogastate.edu. The personal data sheets are in an electronic format so that you can simply complete, save and send them to me in an email attachment by Thursday, March 12th. A selection committee comprised of faculty members and administrators will review the data sheets and select the new inductees. If selected for membership into Spire, you will be notified by email.  You will then submit a $30 check (payable to Pinnacle/Spire) to the Student Support Center (IMC 124) by 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27th. Visit the Pinnacle/Spire website at pinnaclespire.org

A ceremony will be held to honor all new inductees on Thursday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room (OMNI 124/126) at the Chattanooga State main campus. The inductees will receive a certificate, cord, and lapel pin to designate their membership into the society.  Refreshments will be served during the celebration. Inductees are encouraged to invite family and friends to celebrate their outstanding achievement.
