Priority date for students to submit verification documents for financial aid. All documents submitted by this date will have a guarantee to have financial aid on their account by the fee payment deadline for fall classes.

Need Help? Chattanooga State has a free Tiger Express (computer) Lab upstairs in the Student Center, where students receive assistance in filling out the FAFSA, logging in to their TigerWeb account, checking their financial aid status, and receiving help with admissions and financial aid requirements. Students can also speak with a Financial Aid & Admissions counselor in the Student Center.

July 15, 2016

Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals submitted by July 15 will receive a guarantee from the Financial Aid Office that a decision will be made on their appeal in time for fall semester fee payment deadline. Students can still submit appeals after this date, but need to be prepared to make a payment on their fall classes.

If selected for Verification by financial aid, turn in all required Verification documents to the Financial Aid office at Chattanooga State by July 15th (for processing time), before the TN Promise August 1st deadline. Check your status in your TigerWeb student account, or personally in the Student Center, for any Verification requirements you may have received after completing your FAFSA.

Note: TN Promise students must have filed their FAFSA on fafsa.gov by February 15th to remain eligible for the TN Promise scholarship.

The deadline to complete and submit TN Promise community service hours (to maintain eligibility for Fall) is August 1st.

To receive the Hope Scholarship in the fall semester, the FAFSA has to be submitted by September 1. If another institution is listed first on your FAFSA, you will have to go to tn.gov/collegepays and log into the TSAC Student Portal to change your institution to Chattanooga State.

The 2017-2018 FAFSA is available to fill out at http://fafsa.ed.gov for the fall of 2017, spring of 2018, and summer of 2018.
