Department of Humanities
The Chattanooga State Community College Humanities Department offers a comprehensive multi-disciplinary program designed to meet your educational needs, whether you are earning an Associate's degree, pursuing additional knowledge in a specific humanities discipline, or seeking to meet general education requirements. The Humanities Department is comprised of a highly qualified and divers group of full-time and part-time faculty who work innovatively in support of our mission statement, our course offerings, our learning development resources, and our curricular expansion opportunities.
Department of Fine Arts
The Chattanooga State Fine Arts Department offers comprehensive programs in visual art, music, and theatre designed to meet your educational needs, whether you are earning a degree, pursuing a career, seeking individual instruction in a specific visual medium, instrument, or theatrical technique, or fulfilling general education requirements. All fine arts classes are supported by highly qualified and diverse full-time and part-time faculty.
Donald F. Andrews Reading & Writing Center
The Reading & Writing Center is dedicated to helping:
Reading students improve their reading strategies and comprehension, Learning Support writing students improve their grammar and basic writing skills, College-level writing students reach their highest potential, Students with any class that requires a speech or oral presentation, and Students with Spanish language tutoring.
Part of the Center's mission is to promote independent thinking, and its teachers and tutors are constantly pushing the Center's visitors to actively engage with their work.

Humanities & Fine Arts Student Opportunities
The Humanities Celebration is designed to showcase projects created by students in English, Art, Humanities, Foreign Languages, Theater, Speech, and Music.
These interactive sessions range from informative talks and discussions to workshops where attendees can practice or experience a particular craft in a hands-on way.
This exciting project provides students with opportunities for interaction with well-known Southern authors. The program includes readings at the library, writing workshops on campus, an evening with the author at locations across the Scenic City.

Meacham Writers' Workshop
This biannual event is co-sponsored by UTC and brings writers from around the world to Chattanooga for an intensive three-day series of readings, workshops, and informal gatherings.
