The TN Dual Enrollment Grant is defined as a grant for study at an eligible postsecondary institution. College courses taken under the restrictions of this grant do not count towards the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship college GPA and the attempted credit hours limitation.
To review eligibility and participation requirements, as well as apply, visit www.tn.gov/collegepays/article/dual-enrollment-grant
To participate in the TN Dual Enrollment Grant program, a student must:
- Be a Tennessee citizen and resident of the state for one (1) year prior to enrollment and enrolled in postsecondary courses leading towards a degree.
- Be a junior or senior in high school
You may apply for the grant online (even before admission to the Early College Program) at www.tn.gov/collegepays/article/dual-enrollment-grant . Be sure to select the appropriate term for Dual Enrollment Grant and print out your application for your records when prompted. You must reapply for this grant every term. It does not automatically renew. It is highly recommended that you apply for both fall and spring at the same time, even if you are not sure you will attend both terms.
The Dual Enrollment Grant state processing deadlines are: Fall enrollment—September 15; Spring enrollment—February 1; Summer enrollment—May 1.
If you have applied for the grant AND have been admitted and registered by Chattanooga State’s priority deadline, you are eligible to receive the grant credit up front (before fees are due). However, if you have not completed all paperwork by the priority deadline, you must pay all fees and a reimbursement will be mailed to you later in the term based on your eligibility.
Fall priority deadline: June 15
Spring priority deadline: December 15
