ROME (Real Opportunities for Mentoring Experiences) Culinary
The first Chattanooga State Cookoff event featuring the culinary talents of students in the ROME in Culinary program will take place September 2, 2021 at 11:45am
The event will occur in the Michael P. Hennen Culinary Center in the CBIH Building at the Main Campus of Chattanooga State Community College.
ROME (Real Opportunities for Mentoring Experiences) Culinary offers neurodiverse student the opportunity to audit culinary classes while being mentored by neurotypical culinary students. The mentors and mentees are learning from each other as the mentees are getting acclimated to college life and learning valuable culinary skills. After the mentees have completed four classes, they will receive a skills report card that will show potential future employers what has been mastered.
The structured and purposeful friendships that will develop in this mentoring experience will allow mentees and mentors to develop deeper roots within the college.

Latin Fest 2021

Excitement is in the air as we prepare to celebrate the 6th Annual Latin Festival in Chattanooga, TN. We are pleased to announce that this year the Festival will take place at the Chattanooga State Community College campus on September 18, 2021 at 10:00am. Located along the banks of the Tennessee River, the campus will provide a beautiful backdrop for the festival while also letting us showcase the more than 500 Latino students who are currently enrolled at Chattanooga State who serve as role models for our community.
This years’ Festival will kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month, as we look forward to showing thousands of visitors the richness of our local Latino culture, while we once again share the best Latin food that Chattanooga has to offer.

Physical Therapist Assistant Information Session

Required for application to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. There are two options to complete the Information Session, online with quiz or in person. Online and in person will consist of, important facts about the program: curriculum, opportunities, requirements, selection process and application process. In person will also consist of a tour of facilities and a session to answer any questions. Reservation is not required. Physical Therapist Assistant Program Deadline Date: First Monday in February of each year.

Symphonic Band Concert

The Chattanooga State Symphonic Band will present an evening of orchestral transcriptions for wind band featuring works by Brahms, Berlioz, Dvorak, Debussy, Bernstein, Verdi, Stravinsky, and Offenbach. The ensemble is led by Nicholas Hartline and is open to all Chattanooga State, Collegiate High, and STEM students, as well as community volunteers.
