The Chattanooga State men's basketball program is one of the premier junior college programs within the State of Tennessee and nationwide. A member of the TJCCAA Region VII, the Chattanooga State Tigers compete practically every year for regional and national championships, and following graduation, most players continue playing as starters at four-year colleges and universities. As a result, the College has earned a national reputation as an elite institution for its basketball program where young men can hone and display their talent and passion for the game while gaining a first-rate education and developing as responsible adults.
Head Coach Jay Price leads the men's basketball team. Coach Price was a four-year guard for the University of Tennessee Volunteers who later played professionally. His resume includes prior head coaching experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. Since taking the helm in 2004, Coach Price and his Chattanooga State Tigers have earned many accolades including an Eastern Division Title and Coach-of-the-Year honors. As evidence of its superlative track record with its student-athletes, Chattanooga State has won the TJCCAA Region VII All-Sports Award for two consecutive years.
