Academic Partnerships Overview

Chattanooga State Community College has established academic partnerships with both public and private educational institutions. These academic partnerships include advanced course work in teacher education, business and psychology.

  • Students pursuing a career in elementary education can take advantage of the 2+2 partnership forged with Tennessee Technological University.
  • The partnership with Bryan College allows students to continue their studies toward a Bachelors degree in Applied Psychology or Business Administration.
  • Lincoln Memorial University provides graduate and post-graduate degrees for working educators and/or for individuals interested in pursuing new career opportunities. The Master of Education (MEd) or Educational Specialist (EdS) with majors in either administration and supervision or curriculum and instruction are offered through LMU.
  • Upon completion of your associate degree from Chattanooga State, you can transfer your credits to Western Governors University (WGU) Tennessee toward a bachelor’s degree. ChattState graduates will receive a 5% discount on tuition.

Advantages to Students

The academic partnerships created by Chattanooga State not only provide graduates with a choice of colleges or univerisities, but also the opportunity to complete an advanced degree locally. For students who are working or have family obligations that may prevent relocation, the option of continuing their education at one of Chattanooga State’s convenient locations can make the difference between rapidly achieving their educational goals or putting them on hold indefinitely. In addition, the partnerships ensure a seamless transition between institutions. Chattanooga State credits are automatically accepted, which means no additional time and money repeating prerequisite classes.
