Workforce Investment Act Office

Chattanooga State Community College has partnered with the Southeast Tennessee Career Centers to provide support and help facilitate those individuals who are being funded by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

The Workforce Investment Act, a federal program, was designed to meet the needs of dislocated workers needing to change careers or upgrade their skills and economically disadvantaged and displaced homemakers needing to get in the job market.

Chattanooga State has been successful in providing training to those individuals who have to start over because of downsizing, plant closures, or lack of skills. Chattanooga State enables the individual to get the skills and credentials necessary to succeed.

Chattanooga State has short term programs that an individual can complete to help that individual get into or back into the workforce as soon as possible.

Those individuals who receive WIA assistance must apply for financial aid.
