Computer Operations Technology
The mission of this 12-month program is to train potential employees to become entry-level computer support specialists.
This program is intended to provide the student with the basic skills in computer operations for employment as a PC hardware Technician, or a computer technology specialist. The first semester coursework will cover computer concepts, keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, multi-media presentations, and an introduction to operating systems. The second semester will cover the fundamentals of system set-up, hardware assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting. The third semester will introduce the student to the basics of network installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance. This course is designed to prepare the student to sit for industry certifications such as the A+ Hardware and Software exam and the Network+ exam.
