Collision Repair
In the collision repair program at Chattanooga State, the students receive complete and current instruction in the practices and procedures used in repairing and refinishing vehicles. Beginning with auto construction, the program progresses through repair techniques for all body parts. Major emphasis is placed on hands-on activities which are essential to the development of knowledge and skills required to become a successful technician. Automotive body repair technicians straighten bent frames, remove dents, replace parts crumpled beyond repair, and paint and refinish the car body and the interior and exterior parts attached to it. Also stressed is diagnosing damages and estimating the cost of repairs. Students completing this program are qualified to take certification tests of the National Institute for Automotive service Excellence.
