Cosmetology Technical Diploma

This program is offered through the Tennessee Technological Center at the Eastgate Town Center and Kimball sites for students interested in pursuing a career in the personal beauty industry. This 1,500 hour program will provide students with the necessary skills in preparation to take the State Board of Cosmetology's practical and written Cosmetology examinations. Students will develop competencies in personal and salon safety rules and regulations, sanitation and sterilization standards, and the use of equipment and implements used in a salon. Additionally, students will receive instruction in the anatomy and physiology of hair and scalp, the psychology of sales, as well as first aid. Students will be able to complete 1500 hours of instruction required to be licensed in Tennessee by attending four semesters as a full-time student or five semesters as a part-time student.
