How to Register for Technical Programs
- Step 1: Apply for Admission - Prospective students should submit an application to the Admission Office located on the first floor of the Student Center and pay the $15.00application fee. The admission application and $15 fee may be submitted online, as well. To enroll in a TTC program, individuals must be at least 18 years of age or 17 with a high school diploma or GED.
- Step 2: Take the TTC Admissions Test - All first-time TTC students - except those who are applying for Automotive Mechatronics, Medical Assisting, Massage Therapy, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology - must take the COMPASS Diagnostic Tests in math and vocabulary. Prospective students who have previously attended college or have a college degree should submit a copy of his or her transcript to the TTC division office for evaluation, as he or she may be exempt from the admissions test requirement. Applicants who are required to test will receive a test admissions ticket when an application is submitted. The COMPASS Diagnostic tests are administered in the college Testing Center located on the second floor of the Student Center in room 262. Sample questions for the math tests are available in the TTC Division Office (IT 14).
- Step 3: Apply for the Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant (WNTSG) and Federal Financial Aid - All prospective TTC students who reside in Tennessee are encouraged to apply for the WNTSG and Federal Financial Aid by completing a FAFSA application online. For additional information, contact the Financial Aid Office (423.697.4402) located on the second floor of the Student Center or online at www.chattanoogastate.edu/financialaid/index.html The 2007-08 Wilder-Naifeh award is $2,000 for full-time students.
- Step 4: See an Academic Advisor in the TTC Division and Register for Class - Students who pass the TTC admissions test are encouraged to visit the Student Services Department (TTC 20) to meet with an academic advisor and complete a registration form or have their name added to the waiting list for the next semester.
- Step 5: Complete the Registration Process by Paying the Tuition and Fees and Confirming Your Attendance - Registration is not complete until the tuition and fees are paid online or at the Bursar's Office located on the first floor of the Student Center Building by the deadline for the semester in which you plan to enroll.

How to Register for Practical Nursing
- Individuals who have been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation could be ineligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee.
- Prospective students should submit an application for admission along with a $15.00
application fee to the College's admissions office. - Individuals must be at least 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Students are admitted in the fall and spring semesters. Applications are on a first-requested basis.
- Submit an application to the Practical Nursing Program's office on the first floor of the Health Science Center, either in person or via U.S. Mail along with:
- Submission of a high school transcript or GED transcript.

- Students must earn a minimum score at college level in reading (80) and math (51) sections on the college Compass Test. However, student who have a current ACT or SAT score (within the last three (3) years) or students who have previously attended college should submit a transcript for evaluation before taking the Compass test.
- Upon acceptance into the program, a completed physical examination form must be submitted. Applications must be free of any physical or emotional condition that might adversely affect performance in any of the clinical practice requirements.

How to Register for Surgical Technology
- Prospective students should submit an application for admission along with a $15.00
application fee to the College's admissions office. - Individuals must be at least 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A class of eighteen (18) students is admitted in the fall semester. Applications are available on a first-requested basis.
- Submit an application to the Surgical Technology Program's office on the first floor of the Health Science Center, either in person or via U.S. Mail along with:
- Submission of a high school transcript or GED transcript.

- Attend an interview with the Director of the Surgical Technology Program. You will be notified of a specific interview date and time. (Only students with a "complete" application will be contacted.)
- Upon acceptance into the program, a completed physical examination form must be submitted. Applications must be free of any physical or emotional condition that might adversely affect performance in any of the clinical practice requirements.

How to Register for Medical Office Assistant
- Prospective students should submit an application for admission along with a $15.00
application fee to the College's admissions office. - Individuals must be at least 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Students must earn a minimum score of 80 (college level) in reading and at the 0800 level in math on the college Compass Test. However, student who have a current ACT or SAT score (within the last three (3) years) or students who have previously attended college should submit a transcript for evaluation before taking the Compass test.
- Submit an application to Medical Assistant Office, either in person or via U.S. Mail along with:
- A high school transcript or GED transcript.
- Demonstrate a typing skill of at least 25 words per minute.
- Schedule a personal interview.
- Upon acceptance into the program, submission of a completed physical examination form.

How to Register for Commercial Truck Driving
- Prospective students must submit an application for admission along with a $15.00 application fee to the College's admissions office.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Students are not required to take an admissions test to be admitted to the program; however, prospective students must possess a current CDL permit.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Must pass Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) physical examination (current).
- Must pass drug screening test.
- Must provide a current motor vehicle driving record stating:
- No D.U.I. conviction within last five years.
- No reckless driving conviction within last three years.
- No more than three (3) moving violations (speeding) within the last year.
- No more than two at-faults accidents in the last three years (or one at-fault within the last twelve months).
