The Chattanooga State Repertory Theatre (CSRT) the resident professional theatre company at Chattanooga State, provides a unique opportunity for students in the Professional Actor Training Program to be mentored by professional/Equity artists as well as to learn all the elements of producing professional theatre.


This past summer marked our third annual Summer Theatre Festival. CSRT presented Luck of the Draw (a full length improvised musical), A Midsummer Night's Dream , and the world premiere of Rosemary Leaves by Rex Knowles.

The first two summers CSRT presented Angels in America, Oblivion Postponed, Mr. Marmalade, Dog Sees God, Mrs. Warren's Profession, West Running Brook - the Poetry of Robert Frost (world premiere), Hedda Gabler , and Macbeth Students and graduates worked all aspects of the shows.

The Nutcracker Christmas Carol (world premiere), a musical spoof written by Rex Knowles, with music by Knowles, Sherry Landrum, and Allan Ledford. "A lot of performing arts companies try to find a Christmas show that can become their seasonal staple. The CSRT has found a solution to this annual quest...the next Christmas classic!"

That Other Woman's Child, (world premiere at CSRT), a bluegrass musical by Sherry Landrum and George S. Clinton. This past Fall (2008) That Other Woman's Child was selected as one of twenty-four shows out of 400 submissions to participate in the New York Musical Theatre Festival in New York City. The show received standing ovations at every performance.
