TECH-TRACK

Tech-Track is a federally funded program that provides a seamless transition from secondary education to post-secondary education. It was developed by Chattanooga State Technical Community College and funded in part through the Reauthorization of Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). Tech-Track provides opportunities for students to receive college credit for courses completed while still in high school.

One option is based upon the Tech Prep articulation program.  Students may still receive articulation credit under the Tech Prep agreements that have not expired.  The agreements and expiration dates are listed on the Articulation Agreements page.

Tech-Prep Articulation is being phased out and replaced with a Dual Credit Program.  Under this program, students who have completed qualifying high school courses can take a competency test, which may be either written or hands on.  Most of the tests are developed by the college and are free to the student.  Upon successful completion of the test, students will have college credit escrowed at Chattanooga State Technical College.  Upon enrolling at CSTCC and completing certain criteria, the student is awarded the credit with no tuition charged.

Dual Enrollment is also available for career and technical students.  High school students may enroll in college courses that carry high school credit and college credit.  Regular fees apply, however, many students are eligible for the Dual Enrollment Scholarship of the Tennessee Education Lottery Program.
