Multicultural & International Student Services
The Office of Multicultural & International Student Services promotes the integration of diversity and inclusion throughout all levels of the campus community reflecting the vision and mission of Chattanooga State and the Tennessee Board of Regents. The office works collaboratively with Student Life, Student Government, campus departments, clubs, and organizations to promote programming and events which engage the campus community in exploring the richness of diversity. The office plans and sponsors many events such as the International Festival, cultural heritage months, and other cultural appreciation events.
Commitment to Diversity
Diversity for Chattanooga State is not just a “social imperative” – diversity is about the strengths of differences and the genuine consideration given to be inclusive in every aspect of the campus. Chattanooga State views diversity and inclusion as an educational imperative and essential to career preparation. Rather than obligating students to assimilate into the larger culture, diversity at Chattanooga State means acceptance, appreciation, and celebration of differences. For Chattanooga State, diversity and inclusion are not just words on paper: they drive the core values and goals of the institution. The college is committed to maintaining an environment of open access to learning, while providing an enriched curriculum that celebrates diversity. We recognize the strength of our differences and celebrate our diversity as one of our strengths. Chattanooga State is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where employees and students are valued, feel valued, and value their place at the college.
