  • Be a TN resident for one year by Sept 1 of the year starting college.(Dependent children of full-time religious workers, U.S. Military or Tennessee National Guard on active duty who maintain TN residency while stationed out of state are eligible).

TN HOPE

$2000
2 year institution
Full-time enrollment
  • Graduate of eligible high school (according to TSAC) must have at least a 21 ACT (980 SAT) or final unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
  •  Graduate of Home School or ineligible Tennessee High School must have at least a 21 ACT (980 SAT)
  •  GED graduate must have at least a 525 GED and 21 ACT (980 SAT)
  •  Student must enroll at least half-time in eligible higher education institution no later than 16 months after high school graduation, home school completion, or GED test date

General Assembly

$1000 supplement to TN HOPE
  • Graduate of eligible high school must have at least a 3.75 weighted high school GPA and 29 ACT (1280 SAT)
  •  Graduate of home school or ineligible TN high school must have at least a 29 ACT (1280 SAT) and 12 hours of dual-enrollment credit with a 3.0 GPA
  •  GED graduates are not eligible for a the Merit Supplement
  •  Students may receive the Merit Supplement or ASPIRE, but not both

Aspire Award

$1500 supplement to TN HOPE
  • Graduates of eligible high school, home school, or ineligible high school must meet TN HOPE scholarship requirements list above
  •  Parent(s) of dependent student must have Adjusted Gross Income of $36,000 or less on FAFSA
  •  Independent students must have Adjusted Gross Income (including spouses income, if applicable) of $36,000 or less on FAFSA
  •  GED graduates are not eligible for an Aspire Supplement
  •  Students may receive the Merit Supplement or ASPIRE, but not both

TN HOPE Access Grant


$1750 2 year institution
  • Graduate of eligible high school must meet ALL the following criteria:
    • Have at least an unweighted 2.75 GPA
    • Have an 18, 19, or 20 ACT (860-970)
    •  Have an Adjusted Gross Income of $36,000 or less (reference the Aspire for details)
  • Grant is NON-RENEWABLE – it is only available for first 24 attempted hours. Student may become eligible for TN HOPE scholarship by meeting HOPE Scholarship renewal criteria after 24 attempted hours.
Home school graduates, ineligible high school graduates, and GED applicants are not eligible for a Hope Access Grant

Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant

$2000 (not to exceed the cost of attendance)
  • Available to all students enrolled at Tennessee Technology Centers who meet residency requirements
  • May be eligible for TN HOPE Scholarship after completion of diploma program if student is initially HOPE eligible and enrolls at an eligible TN institution within three years of completing a diploma.

Foster Care Grant

Award amount is difference between Cost of Attendance and total of all other financial aid
  •  Graduates of eligible high school, home school, ineligible high school, or GED must meet TN HOPE scholarship requirements listed above and the following requirements;
