ELIGIBILITY FOR ACADEMIC SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
The Academic Service Scholarship covers in-state tuition & fees and provides an allowance for books & supplies. In return, the student is required to complete a work assignment as mandated by the Tennessee Board of Regents.Selections are made on the basis of academic achievement. Economic need will be considered as a factor only when all other conditions appear equal.
Initial recipients must meet all of the following qualifications:
- Apply for and be accepted as a Chattanooga State student
- Complete the FAFSA
- Enroll for a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester (awards pro-rated on credit hours)
- Must not have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
- Not enrolled in a “special” student status
- Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.9 or minimum GED score of 60
- Transfer students must have successfully completed 12 credit hours with a
minimum GPA of 2.5 (students with less than 12 credit hours will be considered
as first-time freshmen)
- Enroll and maintain at least 6 credit hours per semester
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA with no semester average below a 2.5
- Satisfactorily complete work obligation on a semester basis
