The Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education and Education Departments provide comprehensive college-training for persons who enjoy working with children with ages ranging from birth though eight year olds. Early childhood education is receiving national attention due to recent research on brain development which is causing new national, state and local initiatives to be developed for child care programs, agencies, community colleges, and four year institutions.

Chattanooga State has recently completed a transfer agreement with the education department at Dalton State College in Dalton, GA. The agreement benefits students that wish to pursue Pre-K - 5 teaching certification. After completing two years at Chattanooga State, students can transfer to Dalton State to complete a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. The agreement is especially beneficial to students in Bradley and Hamilton Counties because residents of these counties pay in-state tuition rates at Dalton State. Dalton State offers additional course work that can lead to an ESOL endorsement or middle school certification.   Dalton State Transfer Agreement
