Wellness encompasses many dimensions. Not only is physical wellness important but social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, financial and emotional wellness are too. Fitness is important to reducing stress, maintaining a healthy body weight and increasing longevity.
Wellness/Fitness Leadership involves working with clients to show them that change and improvements in life are possible; providing them with the means and information needed to improve; and help them define success based on their personal goals.
Career options are limitless ranging from working as coaches, scouts and athletes to personal trainers, fitness instructors and educators.
An associate of science degree is offered in Wellness and Fitness Leadership and Exercise Science. The Tennessee Transfer Path in Exercise Science allows for transfer to any participating four-year institution to work toward a bachelor's degree in your chosen field of study.
