Psychology

Psychology uses scientific methods to better understand the mind by observing human and animal behavior. There is an emphasis on the underlying root causes of behavior including the physical, cognitive, social and emotional characteristics of development. The diversity of employment in the field includes working in K-12 schools or higher education institutions, business, government, law enforcement, healthcare and mental health care facilities.

Upon the completion of either an associate of science or arts degree, graduates can take advantage of the Tennessee Transfer Path program, which allows them to continue their studies by transferring to any participating four-year institution to work toward a bachelor's degree. Your advisor can provide additional information regarding transfer options in and out of state.
