Announcements:

Membership Fee Awards for New Schools. On behalf of Tennessee Science Olympiad, the Tennessee Science Olympiad State Tournament is pleased to pay the $150 membership fee for up to 30 new schools. It is possible that some schools are reluctant to join the Science Olympiad program because of the expense of membership. If this is the factor that is holding you back from joining we would ask that you request an award for the first year's membership fees. We are confident that when you compete this year you will find it a very rewarding experience for your students and will want to come back next year. We hope you will be able to point to successes from this year's involvement to encourage school support for next year's membership. Please send your registration form and a brief letter requesting that the registration fees be paid by the State Tournament.

Invitational Tournaments.  Pope John Paul II will host a high school invitational tournament on January 26, 2008.  This is an excellent way for new teams to see how a tournament works.  Attending the tournament will help you identify the areas where you are the weakest and help you focus your effort in the last few weeks before the regional tournament. Bearden Middle School also indicated at the TSTA meeting that they would attempt once again to host a Middle School Invitational Tournament early next year.  I will post more information once it becomes available.  For additional information on invitational tournaments select Workshops and Invitational Tournaments in the menu on the left.

Please check this page regularly as important information about Tennessee Science Olympiad will often appear here first.  We welcome Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee at Martin as new tournament sites this year.
