Dr. James L. Barrott
Vice President for Technology
As Vice President for Technology, Dr. Barrott assumes the role of Chief
Information Officer and provides leadership for all technology related
activities including strategic planning, operational redesign and
ongoing operations for information services, networking,
telecommunications, and academic technologies. Presently, the campus is
undergoing an administrative software upgrade to SCT Banner and he is
the Executive Sponsor for the Banner Project.
Dr. Barrott is responsible for two campus divisions, one academic and
one support. The academic division is the
Tennessee Technology Center, which is a Tennessee Technology Center (TTC) in the
Tennessee Board of Regents system. The Chattanooga TTC provides 18
academic programs located at five campus sites, Amnicola Highway campus,
Sequatchie/Bledsoe campus, Kimball campus, Dayton campus, and the Hixson
Truck Driving site. In his leadership of the Chattanooga TTC, Dr.
Barrott interfaces with the office of Mr. James King, Vice-Chancellor at
the Tennessee Board of Regents.
The support division Dr. Barrott leads is the Computer Services Division
with these departments: Academic Systems, Administrative Systems,
Computer Operations, Network Systems, PC Services, and
Telecommunications. Computer
Services also provides campus faculty/staff training and web
services.
