The Construction Management concentration is designed to provide a pathway to supervisory and managerial positions for students with a background in the construction industry. While completing the Engineering Systems Technology associate degree program, the student will upgrade his/her construction management skills with courses in Construction Planning & Scheduling, Construction Estimating, Contracts & Specifications, and Construction Materials and Methods.
The construction management concentration is specifically designed for students holding the following prior learning credentials:
- A Tennessee Technology Center diploma in an construction-related area
- A certificate of completion from a Joint Apprenticeship Training Program approved by the U. S. Department of Labor requiring at least 1,290 clock hours in a technical area (IBEW, Plumbers & Pipefitters, Ironworkers, Boilermakers, etc.), or
- Students holding technical American Council on Education credit for educational experiences while serving in the armed services. Students are awarded up to 23 hours of Practicum credit for prior learning experiences.
